Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Forge Rust Servers ("Forge", "we", "us") collects when you play on our Rust servers or use this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Forge is operated from India.
What we collect
When you play on our servers
- Steam identity: your Steam ID and Steam display name.
- Gameplay data: kills, deaths, shots fired, hits, headshots, damage, match and round results, ratings, which players you killed and were killed by, and the hotbar layout you set.
- Activity times: when you first and last connected.
- Connection and chat logs: the Rust server software records connection events, including your IP address, and in-game chat in its server logs. IP addresses are not stored in our player database.
When you use this website
- Steam sign-in: Steam tells us your Steam ID. You enter your password on Steam, and we never receive it or your email address.
- Sessions: while you are signed in, we store a hashed session token linked to your Steam ID.
- Discord linking: if you link Discord, we store your Discord user ID and username. We do not receive your email address, servers or messages.
We do not take payments, run ads, or use analytics or third-party tracking scripts.
How we use it
- To run the servers, matchmaking and ratings.
- To show leaderboards and player profiles.
- To connect your Steam account with your Discord account in the Forge Discord.
- To enforce our Terms of Service, including investigating cheating and abuse.
- To keep the servers and website secure and to fix problems.
What is public
Leaderboards and player profiles are public. They show your Steam name, Steam ID, ratings, tier, stats, when you were first and last seen, and whether a Discord account is linked. Anyone can search for a player by name or Steam ID.
Cookies
We use only cookies that are needed for the site to work, so there is no cookie banner.
forge_sessionkeeps you signed in for up to 30 days, or until you sign out.forge_steamandforge_discordprotect Steam sign-in and Discord linking against forged requests. They expire after 10 minutes.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal data. Data is shared only with:
- Valve (Steam), when you sign in with Steam.
- Discord, when you link your Discord account.
- Facepunch Studios, whose Rust server software and Easy Anti-Cheat process your connection under their own privacy policies.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, which hosts our servers and database.
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose it.
How long we keep it
- Ratings and per-mode stats are deleted at every monthly force wipe.
- Match history (results, per-match kills, deaths and damage, and head-to-head records) and your player record (Steam ID, name, first and last seen, hotbar layout) are kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Sessions last 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Discord links last until you unlink, which you can do at any time on the Link Discord page.
- Server logs are kept only as long as needed for troubleshooting and moderation.
If you are banned, we keep your Steam ID and the reason for the ban, even after a deletion request, so that the ban can be enforced.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other data protection laws that apply to you, such as the UK or EU GDPR, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
- correct or update it;
- delete it;
- address a complaint about how we have handled it.
Email contact@sweven.dev with your Steam ID. We may ask you to confirm that you own the account, for example by signing in on this site. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India or to the data protection authority where you live.
Age
You must be at least 16 to use Forge. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian. If we learn that a player is under 16, we will delete their data.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS, session tokens are stored only as hashes, and the database is not reachable from the internet. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
